MEDINA, Ohio -- City Council’s Streets and Sidewalks Committee held an informational meeting late last month in an effort to help residents understand some of the city’s policies regarding sidewalks.
“Many of us have gotten phone calls or emails from residents concerned about sidewalks,” Ward 3 Councilwoman Regi Haire said.
“I think there are a lot of people who don’t understand who is responsible for what and how things get done.
“I thought this was a good opportunity to talk about streets and sidewalks and provide information to new community members.”
Haire invited City Engineer Patrick Patton to speak about city sidewalks and how repairs and replacements are addressed.
“We have certain criteria and if the threshold is met, then we know those sidewalks need to be replaced,” Patton
