WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) - Election Day meals are a tradition, but this year, Watertown’s Emmanuel Congregational Church is preparing to fill more bellies than usual.

Coming off a busy Monday night of feeding the community, the preparations for another big meal begin.

“We’re going to make about 300 salads,” said volunteer Judy Cota.

On the menu Tuesday night at Emmanuel Congregational Church?

“We’re building our layers for the lasagna for lasagna election night here at Emmanuel,” said Blake Philbrook, community meals assistant.

It’s a bigger task than usual.

“We’re doing 14 lasagnas today. This is a lot, a lot more for sure,” said Ben Wormwood, kitchen manager.

And there’s more. Students with Jefferson-Lewis BOCES are making another ten pans.
