LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - It’s election day in certain parts of the United States. Virginia and New York have notable elections unfolding.

But Kentucky Secretary of State Michael Adams reported that his office was getting an influx of calls, asking why polls were closed.

Closed polls is not the issue here, Adams explained on social media. It’s simply that Kentucky has no election Tuesday.

“We’re getting calls about polls being closed. They are closed because we do not have elections today,” Adams explained. “Kentucky votes next year. You cannot vote today in Kentucky for the mayor of New York City or the Governor of Virginia. Sorry.”
