YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) -- With three losses in the Missouri Valley Football Conference this season, the "playoffs" begin this Saturday for the Youngstown State football team.

"Yeah, we know where we are. Our backs are against the wall and we've just got to fight," said Penguins senior defensive back Dathan Hickey.

Despite playing well against some of the top teams in the country, the Penguins have just three games left to prove they belong in the FCS playoffs.

"We kind of put ourselves in that situation getting three losses in the league, you know. You can't have any more," said YSU head coach Doug Phillips. "We put ourselves in that situation, now we've got to dig ourselves out."
