LAS VEGAS ( FOX5 ) — A civil trial found two Las Vegas Metro Police officers liable for the death of a 25-year-old man shot and killed in 2020.
The trial was against five Las Vegas Metropolitan Police officers in connection with Jorge Gomez’s death. On June 1, 2020, he was reportedly walking toward his car to leave a demonstration for George Floyd when Metro officers began firing at him.

A report from the District Attorney called the officers’ actions reasonable and legally justified. The officers were identified as Sgt. Ryan Fryman, Officer Daniel Emerton, Officer Vernon Ferguson, Officer Andrew Locher and Officer John Squeo.
None of the officers had body cameras on. Gomez was found to be carrying loade
