The McMinn County Sheriff's Office says a helicopter caught fire after crashing at the local airport on Tuesday.

Sheriff Joe Guy said the pilot was the only person on the small helicopter.

The pilot is being treated for minor injuries by EMS at the scene.

The pilot’s name and the cause of the crash have not been released.

The sheriff’s office is asking the public to avoid the area while they respond to the incident.
