St Brendan’s Sixth Form College in Bristol was evacuated today as firearms officers rushed to the scene.
Broomhill Road, which was closed between Emery Road and Dixon Road, has since reopened after police stood down their response at the college just after 5.30pm. Officers were called to the college earlier this afternoon.
Police have since confirmed that a 17-year-old boy is now in custody on suspicion of a bomb hoax.

St Brendan's Sixth Form College issues update
A spokesperson for the college confirmed it will be open tomorrow. They said: "Following our early closure on Tuesday, I can confirm the college site will be open as usual on Wednesday, November 5." 19:13 Eliana
