WISE, Ky. (WYMT) - Voters in Virginia began casting ballots at 6 a.m. Tuesday in the state’s gubernatorial election, one of three states holding elections in 2025 along with New Jersey and New York.
The ballot includes races for lieutenant governor, attorney general and the House of Delegates in addition to the gubernatorial contest.
Republican candidate Winsome Earle-Sears is running against Democrat Abigail Spanberger. Either candidate will make history as Virginia’s first female governor.
James Bush, an 80-year-old Virginia voter, said participating in elections is vital for the future.
“I’m seen a lot of stuff in my life. I’m really unsatisfied with the way the government is going but hopefully I can change something,” Bush said. “If you don’t like what’s going on, vote and change
