WAUPACA COUNTY, Wis. (WBAY) - All parties involved in a lawsuit filed by a former Waupaca deputy have agreed to a dismissal.

In a court document filed Tuesday, the now-former Detective Sergeant Peter Kraeger and the parties he was suing, Waupaca County and three co-workers, agreed to drop the suit.

In April, the defendants in the suit asked the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals to decide whether the lawsuit should be thrown out. This is an update to an Action 2 News investigation we’ve covered extensively over the last three years.

Kraeger testified in 2022 about concerns over altered arrest reports. A judge determined there was a Brady violation with the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Department, which means a failure to disclose evidence that could change the outcome of a criminal case.
