Erie, Pa (WJET/WFXP)-- Pennsylvania State Police said they've received a confession to the homicide of an inmate at State Correctional Institution Albion.
According to PSP Girard, the cellmate of 25-year-old Andy Ortiz told them he intentionally killed Ortiz on October 29. Police did not release a motive for the alleged homicide.
The identity of Ortiz's cellmate has only been identified as a 33-year-old Conneaut Township man. His name has not been released; however, police said charges are coming.
Erie County Coroner Lyell Cook said 25-year-old Andy Ortiz died from strangulation, ruling asphyxia from neck compression as the cause of death. This was followed by an autopsy performed on October 31.
Ortiz was found unresponsive in his bunk late on October 29 with prison staff and later EMS
