A school bus driver in Medway was arrested “due to his behavior” following an incident where a child was hit by the school bus, according to the Medway Police Department.
The child was hit at Cassidy Lane and Legion Avenue at the Memorial-Burke School Complex. The child, who was not identified, was riding their bike when the bus hit them and was not seriously injured, officials said Tuesday morning.
The bus had been driving slowly, officials said. Still, one of the bike tires went under the front tire of the bus, causing the child to fall to the ground.
Kenneth Benjamin, 69, of Franklin, was identified by police as the bus driver.
Benjamin was placed under arrest by a responding officer “due to his behavior when emotions were high after the crash.”
