The flu is back, and health authorities in Hastings and Prince Edward Counties are reminding the public to be vaccinated against common respiratory illnesses and use simple steps to avoid spreading illness to others.
Southeast Public Health announced on Tuesday the first cases of influenza A had been detected in the Hastings-Prince Edward area and the Kingston, Frontenac, and Lennox and Addington area. Staff would not release more specific location information and said the cases are a sign influenza is active locally.
Influenza A is the most common form of flu and the one which tends, in North America, to arrive in fall or early winter.
