OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Omaha Fire Department crews responded to a house fire in Elkhorn late Monday night.
The Omaha Fire Department reported being dispatched at 11:48 p.m. for a house fire near 218th and Pacific Streets.
Crews saw light smoke and found a fire in the garage, which was quickly extinguished. Everyone in the house evacuated before crews arrived, and no injuries were reported.
A working smoke detector alerted residents to the fire, the report states. The cause of the fire was found to be improper disposal of oily rags.
Damages to the house and contents was estimated at $7,500, per OFD.
