The 2025 NFL trade deadline has arrived, and one of the big names now on the move is defensive back Sauce Gardner .

Gardner is heading from the New York Jets to the Indianapolis Colts, and is a splash acquisition that shows the Colts believe their 7-2 start isn’t a fluke. Gardner was the 2022 Defensive Rookie of the Year with the Jets, defending an NFL-best 20 passes and intercepting two while making 75 tackles.

But with the Jets once again floundering at 1-7 and Gardner’s 4-year, $120.4 million contract extension set to kick in next season, the Jets decided to take two first-round draft picks from the Colts for the star cornerback.
