STODDARD COUNTY, Mo. (KFVS) - A southeast Missouri man was found guilty in a child sodomy case following a two-day trial.

The Stoddard County jury found Robert Lee Grimes guilty in two counts of first-degree sodomy - child less than 12 years of age.

He’s scheduled to be sentenced on Wednesday, January 7, 2026.

According to Prosecuting Attorney Sawyer Smith, the victim, her mother, a forensic interviewer from Southeast Missouri Network Against Sexual Violence, a deputy court clerk and two Stoddard County Sheriff’s detectives were called to testify.

The incident happened in April 2023.

According to Smith, Grimes has previous convictions for first-degree sexual abuse in 1994 and second-degree statutory rape in 2001.
