NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - An Old Point National Bank location in Newport News was robbed Tuesday afternoon, according to the Newport News Police Department.
The incident happened around 2:36 p.m. in the 11700 block of Jefferson Avenue, where investigation revealed an adult male suspect entered the bank, displayed a note implying he had a weapon and demanded money.
The suspect then fled on foot toward Thimble Shoals Blvd. with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The man is described as wearing an orange hat, a facial mask, a plaid shirt with a gray hoodie underneath, and whitewashed jeans. No injuries were reported in the incident.
Detectives are actively investigating and reviewing surveillance footage from the area.
