One of Netflix's most divisive The Witcher changes was finally resolved in season 4, but the whole arc didn't quite work. Naturally, there has been considerable controversy surrounding the streaming giant's adaptation of The Witcher . This has been due, most recently, to the recasting of Geralt of Rivia, with Liam Hemsworth taking on the role in season 4, replacing Henry Cavill. Of course, changes to canon have been an ongoing issue as well.
The Witcher is based on the book series by Andrzej Sapkowski, which was also adapted into a series of video games. This naturally means that Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri's stories already had a significant following.
