CHICAGO (WGN) — The Chicago White Sox have named Zach Bove as their major-league pitching coach, while Matt Wise will return for his third season as the White Sox bullpen coach.
Bove, 37, spent the last three seasons as a major-league assistant pitching coach with the Kansas City Royals. In 2025, the Royals ranked sixth in the major leagues with a 3.73 ERA, while allowing the eighth-fewest home runs (171).
One of Bove's biggest success stories is the development of rookie left-handed pitcher Noah Cameron. Last season, Cameron ranked among the MLB rookie leaders in WHIP (2nd, 1.10), opponents average (2nd, .214), ERA (3rd, 2.99), wins (T-4th, 9), starts (5th, 24), strikeout/walk ratio (5th, 2.65), innings pitched (5th, 138.1) and strikeouts (6th, 114).
