KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- A man wanted in connection with a Kansas City, Missouri, homicide was arrested Tuesday morning following a standoff in Kansas City, Kansas.

A Kansas City, Kansas Police Department spokesperson tells FOX4 the incident started around 8:30 a.m. in the area of North 13th Street and Oakland Avenue when officers were flagged down by someone who said a person with a gun broke into their home and was holding their adult son hostage inside at gunpoint.

KCKPD negotiators were able to get the victim released from the home, and just after 1:45 p.m., officers entered the home and took the suspect into custody.

Police said the suspect was arrested on numerous felony charges and was wanted in connection with a homicide in Kansas City, Missouri.
