The start of a new wrestling program, student highlights and community partnerships were among the items discussed at the October 28 School Committee meeting.
The meeting was held at Morse Pond School. Students in 5th and 6th grades shared what they have been studying science with the help of members of the community this year.
The 5th grade students talked about what they learned during a field trip to the Coonamesset River. Students worked with the Coonamesset River Trust and learned how to monitor water quality. Students tested the water for nitrates and dissolved oxygen, as well as insects and plant activity.
The 6th grade students presented a density column, which was a visual demonstration of liquids with varying densities and how they interact and separate. Woods Hole Oceanogra
