SHREVEPORT, La. — As the federal government shutdown continues, Catholic Charities of North Louisiana is reminding the community about its rent and utility emergency assistance programs — and how residents can help families in need.

Executive Director Diane Libro spoke with KTBS 3 to raise awareness of the services available for those struggling to make ends meet during this uncertain time.

“Last year, we distributed more than $221,000 to help 649 families stay in their homes and keep their lights on,” Libro said. “Our goal is to make sure people know this resource is here for them — and that others can contribute if they want to make a difference.”
