A suspected killer will face court more than 34 years after a young mother was found dead in her home after an alleged fatal assault.
Detectives arrested a 63-year-old man from Greensborough, in Melbourne's north east, on November 5 in relation to the 1991 death of Melinda Freeman in Whittlesea.
He was charged with murder and will face the Melbourne Magistrates' Court on November 5.
Police allege that the victim knew her killer.
Ms Freeman's body was found lying on the top-storey landing of her Yea Road home at 11.30pm on October 4, 1991.
She died from a fatal assault, police said.
