NEW YORK -- Left-hander Brandon Waddell , a notable success story of the 2025 Mets, is back for another season.
The Mets on Tuesday signed Waddell to a Major League contract, fresh off a year that saw him post a 3.45 ERA over 11 appearances. Shuttling back and forth from the Minors, Waddell started one game, finished four others and pitched in relief on 10 occasions, often saving other bullpen arms from overuse.
It was a successful stateside return for Waddell, who spent parts of 2020-21 in the Majors before pitching the next three years in Korea. The Mets brought him back on a Minor League deal last offseason, then leaned on him for innings throughout the summer.
