DENVER (KDVR) — An arrest affidavit for a now-former Englewood police officer appears to show frustration and a language barrier may have led to an assault during a traffic stop in early October.

According to an arrest affidavit obtained by FOX31, Ryan Vasina, 30, was arrested on charges of second-degree assault, first-degree official misconduct and third-degree assault for actions connected with an Oct. 8 traffic stop.

The incident took place at about 11 p.m., according to the court record. Vasina was on duty and pulled over a sedan driven by Carlos Jose Rangel-Rincones, 20. The affidavit says that Vasina pulled Rangel-Rincones over because he allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign.
