ARLINGTON, Texas — A dog was taken to an emergency vet after a North Texas police officer shot it on the job, police said.
According to the Arlington Police Department, three officers responded to a commercial alarm call in the 1000 block of Enterprise Place at about 12:48 a.m. on Tuesday.
APD said the officers approached a van that was parked near a large dumpster and spoke with a man sitting in the passenger's seat. The man told officers that he and his friend were dumpster diving for scrap metal and any other items that had been thrown out.
One of the officers then walked over to the dumpster and began talking to the friend, who was in the dumpster at the time, police said.
