LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police and fire crews are responding to a reported plane crash near Louisville's airport.
A MetroSafe supervisor said the call was for a "reported explosion" in the area of Fern Valley Road and Grade Lane. Louisville Metro Police said there's an active scene with "fire and debris."
Spokesperson Matt Sanders said it's a reported plane crash with injuries. Sanders said there were over 20 calls for service.
A shelter-in-place was issued just after 5:30 p.m. for everything within 5 miles of the airport "until further notice." The map below shows a 5-mile radius from the airport.
Viewers are sending photos and calling to report a big plume of smoke.
