BELMONT, Mass. —

An 18-year-old man is dead after his motorcycle collided with another vehicle in Belmont, Massachusetts, Middlesex County District Attorney Marian Ryan said.

Just before 9 a.m. Tuesday, Belmont police said they observed a moped operating erratically on the wrong side of Trapelo Road.

The operator, an 18-year-old from Watertown, failed to stop after police attempted to pull them over.

The moped continued down Belmont Street before turning onto Stults Road and colliding with a Honda CR-V that was driving on Fairview Avenue.

The moped operator was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The Honda driver was also taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.
