MIDDLETOWN, CT. (WFSB) - Connecticut’s new speed cameras are raising concerns among drivers about privacy, and legal rights, as citations continue to mount across the state. If you’re hit with a citation, do you have a legal leg to stand up and fight?

Three towns currently have speed cameras, with five others receiving state approval to join them. The cameras have generated significant debate among residents and drivers.

“To me, it’s a little bit of an invasion of people’s privacy,” said Mark Lafferty, a driver. “It impedes on our rights.”
