This is the third year of the Class AAA bracket, and each final has featured the same two clubs. Fairport has won both instances, but McQuaid will try to reverse that trend.

Fairport enters the match as one of nine unbeaten teams remaining in New York state. Ten of its 15 wins have been by multiple goals, but the Red Raiders have had a couple of close calls of late, including a 2-1 win over Rush-Henrietta in Thursday's semifinals.

After winning 13 games last season, McQuaid's total has dropped to eight so far this fall, and split its five games against Monroe County competition 2-2-1. The Knights are allowing less than a goal per game.

The teams did not meet during the regular season.
