GREENE COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL) - The United Way of Greene County is funding four organizations to provide food to SNAP users without benefits during the government shutdown.

United Way is in partnership with Community Ministries, Family Resource Center (Greene County Schools), My Neighbor's House and North Greene County Churches United in Love Ministry.

Milk deliveries are being increased from 10 to 15 cases per week. Distribution efforts for families in need, food box pickups and food distribution during evening hours and weekend distributions are being provided.

The partnerships are to provide food banks to SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) users while they are without benefits during the government shutdown.
