FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - The Allen County Veterans Court marked a significant milestone this week as it celebrated the graduation of 14 veterans who have completed the program, turning their struggles into stories of recovery, redemption, and hope.
“They give so much back to our community by fighting for our freedom that it’s our duty to give back to them and give them the opportunity to find recovery and healing when they’re struggling to come back home.” Ashley Hand.
Ashley Hand, an Allen Circuit Court judge, says the program is designed to support veterans suffering from substance abuse or mental health disorders, two of the most pressing issues facing many who have served.
