OTTAWA — Nova Scotia MP Chris d’Entremont will be joining the Liberal caucus, the Liberal Party confirmed in a statement Tuesday evening following the budget announcement.

D’Entremont resigned from the Conservative caucus earlier today after telling Politico he was considering crossing the floor to the Liberals.

“Prime Minister Mark Carney is offering that path with a new Budget that hits the priorities I have heard most in my riding, to build strong community infrastructure and grow a stronger economy,” read the statement. “That is why I am joining the Government caucus.”

This move puts the Liberals two seats shy of a majority government and being able to pass their budget without opposition support.
