BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Amid ongoing uncertainty about SNAP during the government shutdown, groups have announced food donation drives and initiatives.

President Trump said in a social media post on Tuesday, November 4, that SNAP benefits would only go out when the shutdown ends. The Trump administration had previously announced that SNAP would be partically funded.

In Louisiana, Governor Jeff Landry announced that some SNAP benefits will go out in November to households that include the elderly people, disabled people, or children. Households with only able-bodied adults will not get state-funded emergency assistance. Click here for more.
