If you haven’t heard by now, a sword-slinging reboot of the classic 1980s fantasy-action film, Highlander , is well in the works. Henry Cavill is set to lead the cast with Chad Stahelski of the John Wick franchise slated to direct. Russell Crowe joins the powerhouse cast as the character originally played by Sean Connery in 1986, joking that the role will finally allow him to do what Ridley Scott said he couldn’t in Gladiator .

In an interview with 60 minutes Australia , Crowe lightheartedly laughs while explaining the ridiculous background of Connery’s character.
