SALT LAKE CITY — A man died on Sunday after crashing an off-road vehicle in Juab County.

According to Captain Chase Pili with the Department of Natural Resources Law Enforcement, the 26-year-old was driving at the Little Sahara, Sand Mountain area when he crashed.

“At the time of the incident, a helmet was not worn, and alcohol use was suspected,” Pili said. “(Officials) are still investigating.”

Pili said the man was transported to a hospital via life flight and was in critical condition before dying from his injuries.

“We are thankful for the response from bystanders, Juab County Sheriff’s Office, Juab County EMS and Intermountain Health Life Flight,” the Utah Department of Natural Resources Division of Law Enforcement said. “The (DNRLED) extends condolences to family and friends.”
