A 57-year-old man has died after apparently falling out of his seat on TheBus early this morning, according to Honolulu police.

The incident occurred at about 5 a.m. in Halawa. Police said the bus driver was heading eastbound on Kamehameha Highway when the man fell from his seat onto the bus floor, and became unresponsive.

Honolulu Emergency Medical Services took the man to a hospital in critical condition, where he later died, police said.

Police are investigating the incident, but said in a statement that at this time, it does not appear that the bus collided with another vehicle. Additionally, speed, drugs and alcohol do not appear to be contributing factors.

No other passengers were injured. The bus driver, a 44-year-old man, was not injured, either.
