A nonprofit dedicated to "increasing the well-being of all children," has announced what officials are describing as a "bold" vision.

Indiana Youth Institute's 25-year goal, "Five by 50," aims to ensure that every child in the state will be connected to at least five caring, supportive adults who help them thrive by the year 2050, according to a Tuesday news release.

The vision was unveiled at Indiana Youth Institute's annual two-day Kids Count conference, which ended Tuesday in downtown Indianapolis. Attendees included hundreds of teachers, mentors, coaches, counselors and community leaders who work to improve the lives of young people.

The focus of this year's conference was the power of personal connections, the release said.
