A MAN has been flown to Tamworth hospital with serious injuries after an accident on the side of the New England Highway.

Emergency services including Ambulance paramedics, New England police and the Volunteer Rescue Association (VRA) were deployed to the scene at Glencoe, north of Armidale, about 8am on Wednesday, November 5.

A triple zero call reported a man, aged in his 20s, had been seriously injured while changing a truck tyre on the side of the New England Highway, near the Ben Lomond Hill.

A spokesperson for NSW Ambulance told the Leader three crews, including rescue and intensive care paramedics, arrived to find the man with serious hand and arm injuries.
