Residents near the site of Regina’s latest homicide are being asked to check their properties for a firearm that might have been discarded in the area.

A news release issued Tuesday by the Regina Police Service (RPS) said the firearm is related to an ongoing investigation into a Nov. 1 death that occurred on the 1000 block of 12th Avenue.

The area of focus is Saskatchewan Drive to Victoria Avenue and Montreal Street to Wallace Street, the release said, adding that RPS Major Crimes and Forensics Unit investigators remain in the area.
