SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) -- Sioux Falls Police are searching for answers after a man opened fire inside a western Sioux Falls apartment. Two people were shot, and one didn't survive.
The crime was at an apartment complex at Larch Avenue and west 43rd Street. If it sounds familiar, it's the third homicide at the complex this year.
Officers arrived a little after 5a.m., at the Meadowland Apartments, and it wasn't long before the parking lot was lined with crime tape and flashing lights.
"Multiple calls had come in providing us information that two people were shot and that a suspect had ran out of the apartment and was still armed. As you can imagine, this produced quite a police response," Sioux Falls Police Chief Jon Thum said.
