The St. John’s College Green Eagles senior girls basketball team is hoping it’s saved its best for last.
Hosting an Athletic Association of Brant, Haldimand and Norfolk semifinal on Tuesday, the Green Eagles defeated the North Park Collegiate Trojans 55-21.
St. John’s now advances to Thursday’s final at ACS where it will meet the two-time defending champion Lions for the championship at 7 p.m.
It’s no secret that Assumption will be the heavy favourite especially since the Lions are heading into the final undefeated this season. The team’s record includes a 55-23 semifinal win over Paris District High School on Tuesday.
Even though SJC lost twice to ACS in the regular season – 44-36 and 60-50 – Green Eagles sharp-shooter Abbey Wilson said she’s confident in her team.
