Solvang City Council members recently gave staff the go-ahead to investigate options for relocating City Hall from its nearly 60-year-old digs.

Staff will come back in three to six months with clear costs and more precise design than the initial proposal presented Oct. 27.

“It’s definitely not an inexpensive proposition, but it is something that could potentially be included in a bond offering or other opportunities for revenue, maybe grants. City Hall grants are hard to come by, but fire department and library we could get grants for so those are things to consider,” City Manager Randy Murphy said.
