Polls are closed in New York, where Saratoga County voters decided who will become the county’s next District Attorney.
Republican Brett Eby was leading Democrat Bobby Logan by 52.07% to 47.93%, with 70% of precincts reporting, as of 11:45 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, early returns showed.
The high-stakes race follows the August retirement of longtime DA Karen Heggen, who led the office for more than a decade.
Logan, a career prosecutor who has served in the Bronx, Suffolk, and Saratoga County DA’s offices, has campaigned on keeping the office “focused on justice over politics.” He has highlighted his background in managing prosecutors and investigating corporate fraud and organized crime, saying his leadership would prioritize fair enforcement, public safety, and experienced management.
Eby, meanwhile, has run on a tough-on-crime platform emphasizing accountability and law enforcement partnerships. Backed by several police groups, he has pledged to take a stronger stance on violent and repeat offenders, address the effects of bail reform, and expand victim-support and school safety initiatives. He’s also called for more aggressive prosecution of animal cruelty, drug offenses, and property crimes affecting small businesses.
The winner will oversee criminal prosecutions for Saratoga County’s more than 240,000 residents and shape local justice policy for years to come.
Unofficial results are expected to begin rolling in after polls close at 9 p.m., with official certification by the Saratoga County Board of Elections in the coming days. Follow live results here.
