A 78-year-old San Bernardino County man was arrested for reportedly trying to murder his estranged spouse earlier this week.
Deputies with San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Big Bear Station were alerted to gunfire in the 1100 block of North Mound Street just before 7 a.m. on Nov. 3.
The caller, a neighbor, reported that the gunman, later identified as Tamio Sakai, a resident of Big Bear City, was firing off rounds outside his estranged spouse’s home, according to a SBSD news release.
Responding deputies located the 78-year-old near his vehicle in front of the residence and quickly detained him.
