A man with multiple active warrants was arrested Tuesday after leading deputies on a chase that ended in a crash across the Georgia state line.

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) says deputies tried to stop a vehicle on John Ross Road, but the driver, Patrick Allen McDaniel, refused to pull over. The pursuit ended when McDaniel crashed into a tree while turning onto Park City Road from Battlefield Parkway in Georgia.

McDaniel was taken into custody and turned over to the Walker County Sheriff’s Office, where deputies found meth and marijuana in the vehicle.

He faces numerous charges in both Hamilton and Walker counties, including Aggravated Robbery, Aggravated Assault, Theft of Property, and Felony Evading.
