It's a pretty well-known fact that the comedy genre has received historically unfair treatment at the Academy Awards. There's no way around it: Oftentimes, and particularly in bigger categories like the four Acting Oscars, there are egregious snubs belonging to comedies. From classic performances to far more modern ones, and from performances in pure comedies to ones in more balanced dramedies, comedic acting doesn't always get the recognition it deserves.
