PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — An A-Venture student is facing charges after the Providence Police Department said they allegedly assaulted a teacher on Oct. 30.
Providence police responded to the school around 10:15 a.m. after being notified of an assault.
According to police, a student became “disruptive” during class and “refused to leave” when asked by school staff members.
Police said a teacher then “attempted to escort the student out” of the room when the defendant allegedly struck the teacher.
The student was taken into custody without incident and charged with disorderly conduct.
Police said the teacher was not injured and did not press charges.
