WETHERSFIELD, Conn. — The U.S. Department of Labor is awarding Connecticut $8 million in Industry-Driven Skills Training Funds to support skill-building programs in the state’s high-demand industry areas.
This news was announced on Tuesday by the Connecticut Department of Labor, or CTDOL, in a release.
CTDOL will use the money to further the design and implementation of worker training programs to meet specific needs of the industry.
The federal government shutdown has delayed the disbursement of the funds, and it is unclear when the money will arrive in Connecticut, but when it does, it is expected to make a big difference.
