CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Multiple dead, and nearly a dozen are injured after a UPS plane crashed at a Louisville airport, authorities report.

UPS flight 2976 crashed at the Muhammad Ali International Airport around 5:20 p.m. Tuesday evening, according to a UPS press release.

Governor Andy Beshear said four people are dead and 11 are injured so far. These numbers are preliminary, he warns, and says they expect the toll to climb.

UPS has reported that there were three crew members aboard when the plane went down. Governor Beshear says the status of the crew is currently unknown.

Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg says the plane was carrying 38,000 gallons of fuel, and the fire is still burning hours later.
