BLOOMINGTON — The Indiana women’s basketball's team lead never dipped under 20 points after a hot start in the season-opener against Lipscomb on Tuesday night at Assembly Hall.
The Hoosiers (1-0) closed out an 80-46 win with three players in double digits. Shay Ciezki led the way with 22 points — she scored 14 points in the second half — while Zania Socka-Nguemen had 19 points on 9 of 10 shooting and Lenée Beaumont had 10 points in her first game since the 2022-23 season.
Indiana jumped out to an early lead with a 15-0 run in the first quarter while opening the game 7- of-7 from the field. The Hoosiers held Lipscomb to 27.6% shooting in the first half and went into the break up 43-20.
